Documents necessary for travelling beyond the Schengen Area

It is possible to cross an external border only with a valid travel document or a different document enabling to cross it.

Slovak nationals may travel abroad only with a valid travel document, if not stated otherwise in an international treaty binding for the Slovak Republic. Slovak nationals younger than 5 years old may only travel abroad without their own travel document if they travel with their parents holding the travel document they are registered in.
