Information Centre for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and for Crime Prevention

The office of the Information Centre for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and for Crime Prevention is a part of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic situated in Bratislava, the capital of the Slovak Republic. Our responsibilities include gathering data, statistical information (PDF, 86 kB) and analysis aimed at trafficking in human beings. We are a gestor and monitoring body of a specialized Programme of Support and Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings. We also run a specialized information system on cases, victims and perpetrators of trafficking in human beings in Slovakia.

Based on Article 19 of Directive 2011/36/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 April 2011 on Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Protecting its Victims, and replacing Council Framework Decision 2002/629/JHA our office has been appointed as national rapporteur.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic is the national anti-trafficking coordinator who covers the national referral mechanism in Slovakia and chairs the Expert Group for the field of combating trafficking in human beings. There are also ad-hoc specialized multidisciplinary working groups focussed on combating trafficking in human beings.
