European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS)
The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is the European Union's forthcoming electronic system for third-country nationals who are exempt from the visa requirement when crossing external borders. ETIAS will make it possible to assess whether the presence of third-country nationals on the territory of the Member States poses a security risk, a risk in terms of illegal migration or an epidemiological risk.
The travel authorisation will be valid for 3 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. It will allow you to stay in the territory of a Member State for a maximum of 90 days in any 180-day period.
It will only be possible to apply for an authorisation electronically via the mobile app or via the web interface. The issue of a travel authorisation does not guarantee entry into the territory of a Member State.
